please tell me all the various figures and if french brandy and cognacs are cheap in france as im traveling their soon from ireland and back!

Hello,
The cigarettes in France are around Eur 5.50 for 20, but it depends on the brand you’re looking for.
For instance, Marlboro red are 5.60, Benson & Hedges 5.10 and Silk Cut 5.50.
Remember that according to the EU regulations, you will only be able to bring back 200 cigarettes (well, legally anyway…)
As for the Cognac, a bottle of Hennessy is about Eur 35, a bottle of XO (70 cl) is about Eur 50. You might be able to find even cheaper prices in local supermarkets, as opposed to tourism hot spots. Foreign Brandy is not very popular in France, but you should try Armagnac, which is produced in the south west of France but available anywhere.

I am really missing pate, and sharing a bottle of red wine with my other half on a Saturday evening.

I’m not missing a particular food item, i am, however, missing the way i like my food to be cooked, therefore i’m missing most things.
I love all my meat very rare, now it has to be well cooked. I also like my eggs runny, now they have to be hard.
The drink i’m missing most is coffee. Before my pregnancy i’d drink around 8 cups a day, which i guess wasn’t good for me anyway.
